Hands on Table
Question: Can you tell me why the French keep their hands above the table? and do not let them slip into their laps?
Answer: Hi Owen, Sorry to be so long in replying.
I believe the common wisdom is that this is done so that everyone knows what everyone else's hands are doing. No funny business under the table.
Of course, one always has one's feet!
